The
Everyothers Interview
The
Everyothers are a hot stripped down glam rock band from NYC that
you have never heard of. The New York press has been all over these
guys recently though they are relatively unknown outside of NYC.
Just coming off a big tour and with a solid new record on Hautlab,
this is likely to change. These questions are answered by - mainly
- by Ben Toro. Regardless of who answered, they basically got the
bonus question correct. Not an exact answer but on the right track.
What
is the impetus for the amount glam rock on your latest record?
We
just set out to make a rock & roll record, and i'd say glam
is one influence of many.
How do you feel you guys are able to differentiate yourselves
from the
rest of the NYC pack?
Glam.
What do you wish to be know for as a band?
We
just want to be known as a great rock & roll band, not for being
glam or anything like that.
Do you feel certain bands spend too much time playing the part
of rock
stars versus just rocking?
I
don't know what other bands are doing as far as the rock star thing
goes. We just get on with the rocking.
How did you get hooked up with Hautlab?
(Our
producer) Tim O'Heir brought them down to a show.
What, in your view, is the quintessential rock film?
John:
Quadrophenia
Joel: The Last Waltz
Owen: Rock & Roll Circus
Ben: Westway to the World
Is the Iowa caucus system a good idea? Is it a bit mundane?
Wow,
that's more of a round-table discussion topic.
What is your favorite place to eat in NYC? Likewise, favorite
place to
drink if separable?
Caravan
of dreams on E.6th or Taza del Oro in Chelsea.
as far as drinking, Blu lounge in Brooklyn, or 2A on Ave. A.
Are there side projects currently in the works or to be?
No,
but Owen's produces on the side.
What are the Everyothers plans for this year?
To
keep touring the U.S., then some touring in Europe. Keep working
on new songs, then do a new record in the fall.
Bonus: What does the square root of three and George Washington
have in
common?
Year
of birth?
