Albert
React Interview
Coming
out of Pennsylvania, the five-piece Albert
React have just knocked a new album for Eulogy entitled Confluence
& Scrapes and, as most bands in their place, they are perpetually
on tour. In the buildup for the record's release and etc., lead
singer Gabe Libhart was kind enough to answer some of our questions.
Somehow, though, something was lost in translation and not all of
the originals were answered, including our increasingly bewildering
bonus question.
How
is it being on Eulogy?
We
are very happy with how they treat us. They do their job as a label
to promote and distribute our record, which makes touring much easier.
Are
you interested in being sponsored by some alcohol company like Jagermeister?
Very
much so, yes. If you know someone who can make that happen, please
email us at info@albertreact.com
Which,
and why, are the band's guitars of choice?
Andrew
plays a paul reed smith, and Justin plays a Gibson sg. They play
them because they like how they sound.
Would
you ever consider doing an acoustic record?
I
doubt it, that's just not how we jam and touring on an acoustic
Record wouldn't be as much fun for us.
Who
is a crazier rock star: Courtney Love or Axl Rose?
That
question doesn't deserve an answer.
How
do you handle your merchandising (e.g., does it go through Eulogy,
a separate licensing co., or just yourselves?)?
We
go through ian at equal vision for shirts. Eulogy does everything
else. Andrew, our guitarist, does the t-shirt designs.
Do
the guys in the band have any off-kilter hobbies, like building
model WWII planes?
Nothing
too off-kilter, no. I collect apricorns in the fall, matt collects
shoes, Andrew builds and remodels doghouses, Jamie collects computer
keyboards, and Justin builds model WWI airplanes.
At
the end of the day, what does Albert React want to accomplish?
We
want to continue being able to tour and continue having the opportunity
to make music together. We also want to convince as many people
as possible to vote for John Kerry in the upcoming election.
